This spring, the Okanagan Crush Pad released a trio of fun wines under the Bizou + Yukon label. There is the Savvy Gris, the Pinkie Rosé and the Savvy Franc, all that was missing was the bubbles. Now, here they are!
2018 BEE-zoo Bubbles $24.90
After a hard days work, make sure to paws for some bubbles!
I never really understood the whole “afternoon tea” trend until my friend explained to me that it is perfectly acceptable to serve a glass of Prosecco with afternoon tea. The BEE-zoo Bubbles is off-dry and would pair quite nicely with afternoon tea. I can also imagine it with spicy grilled shrimp, or even with just a chair on a sunny patio.
The 2018 BEE-zoo Bubbles offers aromas of almond, red apple, orange & cream hard candies and yeast. This sparkling wine has a mouth-filling, soft, foamy mousse and medium acidity. The juicy palate provides more orange candies, sweet ripe strawberries & cream, red apples and a medium finish.
There’s not a whole lot of technical data available on this bottle of bubbles. I do know that it is made from traditional sparkling wine grape varietals using the Charmat Method and that it gets its beautiful pale salmon colour from a short time spent on Pinot Noir skins.
The Okanagan Crush Pad is currently open daily for tastings (with a reservation) and wine sales. To find a bottle of BEE-zoo Bubbles at a store near you, checkout the Store & Restaurant Search on the Okanagan Crush Pad website.
